We are excited to announce we are building a children’s wing on to the existing library to the north and the basement will become a designated program room. The addition will be built with funding from a $650,000 CDBG Grant. To receive the CDBG grant the library had to fund $130,000. We applied for a Jones Foundation grant and was awarded $65,000 leaving the library to fund $65,000. In 2024 we received a $30,000 donation from Lyndon Rural Rental Housing, Inc, and in 2026 the Carnegie Foundation will donate $10,000, this will leave the library to fund $25,000. We will be fundraising over the next two years and will also be able to use our NEKLS yearly fund of $20,000.

In these plans you will see the addition of an office, it does seem large but it will house storage and an area to cover books. The new area will have an indoor ramp, stairs and a lift., also a handicap accessible restroom. We are excited for this new area, it will be filled with shelving from downstairs and there will be a circulation desk.
